About Me

SOFAHEAD existed properly from 1987 till 1994 I think, coming out of a band called DAN. They did quite a lot of gigs with bands like Snuff, Fugazi, Leatherface, Wat Tyler, Drive, Inside Out, Bitch Magnet, Senseless Things, Nation Of Ulysees, Crane, Silverfish, Jailcell Recipes, Goober Patrol, Fire Party, NoMeansNo, Blaggers ITA, Quicksand, Fudgetunnel and Green Day and then after writing 3 'Dan' albums and 3 'Sofahead' albums, ('Pre-Marital Yodelling (1127 Walnut Ave)'. 'What a Predicament' and 'Acres of Geeses' pretty much consecutively Wal and Ian ran out of ideas and that was the end of that. There were occasional gigs when we felt like it but this ended when Lainey destroyed Mikes' drums one night at a gig in Darlington due to being tired and emotional. It must be said we were all wankered and at least people wouldn't remember how badly we played. Mike now has a square rack tom, skins are almost impossible to buy for it ;)We did a few gigs since then with Mike on guitar instead of Wal, including Wasted 2004 but then wal decided he wanted to play again so he's done the last few and will be playing again in the future, which is nice. And Boss Tuneage have released the 1st 2 albums on one CD, remastered by Britt from Assert. It's coming up to 20 years since the first SHead stuff happened so it must be a case of cranking out a few shows to make us feel young again,....everyone else does it :) ..
