Gabriel Garcia-Marquez is the standard i hold when it comes to reading literature. if you haven't read 100 Years of Solitude, go stand outside your local bookstore and wait for it to open, and buy yourself a copy of the book(or go to his website http://www.themodernword.com/gabo/ ). check out the comedy troupe Culture Clash. these guys are fucking funny and they make you think. i love real life people who have become mythological figures.
