Serge Z-lenin’s career spans decades and continents.
In the 1990s he was introduced to electronic dance music on 106.8 FM in Moscow. He followed the sound all the way to New York City and got involved in the city’s nightclub scene. By 2001 Z-lenin was performing in legendary venues like Centro-fly, Shelter and – more recently – Pacha, while learning the art of musical production, working for several of New York’s underground radio stations. He reconnected with his Russian roots by producing Atmosfera, a weekly underground dance music show on Radio VSE 87.7 FM, a popular Russian-American radio station.
In 2005 Z-lenin ventured into nightclub promotion by planning a series of events called KGB at NYC’s premier underground club, Sullivan Room. The success of KGB parties led to Z-lenin’s ongoing residency with the club. His most recent work includes performances with DJs like Paolo Mojo, Pete Bones and AudioJack. He is currently developing his sound for an upcoming album.
