Don Goede AKA Jack Medicine became tour manager/caretaker for Daniel Johnston in 1999, for at least 100 shows throughout the world. The album is a result of songs recorded by the pair in hotel rooms and before and after performances. The cover of their first album was painted by painter Ron English. The album was produced by Mark Kramer (the founder of Shimmy Disc Records), Mad Francis, and Paul Rubenstein. A DVD documentary about Daniel Johnston, called The Devil and Daniel Johnston, was released on September 19th 2006. The film has won numerous awards at film festivals such as Sundance, and has been screened worldwide to almost unanimous acclaim. Daniel has also become a recognized visual artist, and was recently included in the Whitney Biennial Exhibition. ..
