JELLY "ROLL" DUBOIS – guitar player and singer, has interpreted Blues for more than 35 years through various bands in Paris (Blues Fellows, Just Blues, Mister Blues…). He had the opportunity to meet and play punctually with Luther Allison, Mickey Baker, JJ Malone, Franck Goldwasser… both in France and in the USA. He took part in several recordings: Blues Fellows " Live" , collective “Blues against racism,†Mickey Baker " Farewell to the Blues".
At the beginning of 2006, he moved in the South West of France and decided to found LE GANG DUBOIS with his son Julien " Baby face" DUBOIS as bass player (a professional musician playing in several bands: Red Morgan, Keith Dunn, Lenny Lafargue, Peyotl …) and an old acquaintance Eric BOREAVE as drummer (also a professional musician playing with different bands: Super Chickan, Mister Tchang & Easy Money, Lonj, Peyotl ….).
They recorded a 4-title maxi at the Berduquet studio (France). After several concerts in trio, in September 2006, the band decided to grow by welcoming a second guitar player, Salomon CLARK. He is a senior musician well-known in the Blues family of Bordeaux ‘cause of his participation in several local bands. His arrival has contributed to the band’s improvement.
Today, the GANG DUBOIS offers a powerful and electric repertoire, resolutely inspired by Chicago Blues and presents to you as well personal compositions as Chicago Blues covers.
Their CD Holdup†(12 titles) was achieved during the summer 2007 and shows the maturity of the band.
