It comes from my love and obsession with Newcastle United Football Club. Ever since I was young boy, I've loved NUFC. With a "til I die" mentality. NUFC's nickname, that all fans refer to the club as, is 'the toon'. With my obsession being what it was for the toon, it was from about the age of 11 or 12 that everyone, from friends to people at school, my cousin's etc... They all referred to me as Toon. It's a name that just stuck.
What do i do with myself?
My love for hardcore music has influenced where i find myself in life today. I'm a rave scene promoter, i.e. I put my own raves on, namely Marvel and Reactor. I put these on under my production company that I call MA-15+ Entertainment and my record label Seraphim Records. Yes, I own my own record label! I also DJ under the name Toon.
I'm 50% of Seraphim Records. Australian Hardcore record label that myself and close mate Kaicey Coleman (DJ Raziel) started up together.
Marvel is the name of the first rave I put on. I had helped with a few things here and there at other raves that friends were putting on. But when I got into it for myself, tried to make a career of it, the first one I did, I called it Marvel.
It was on September 2, 2006 that I put this rave on, This was the beginning of it all... I put on this rave under the name of my production company MA-15+ ENTERTAINMENT. I was scared that it was going to fail, even an hour or so after the party had began I was worried about this. But in the end, I had success with a great turnout as the ravers came in numbers, and helped create what was voted the best underground rave of 2006.
I also put on another few raves. These are REACTOR, AFTERMATH and NIGHTVISIONS. I put Reactor and Aftermath on with some help from Raziel and Nightvisions is a 50-50 project with Com-Baton Music, not just done by myself like I do Marvel.
I'm also a tour manager. I have toured a number of DJ's from overseas. These include: Endymion, Dione, E-Noid, Ophidian, Tha Playah, Hamunaptra, Lenny Dee, The DJ Producer and there's more to come yet! So times are busy.
I live in Sydney Australia, have my entire life. Different parts of it at different times in my life, but always within the borders of Sydney. I love it. Everything I could want and desire is here. I'm also a bit patriotic, I love my home town, my country, my background etc... Am a bit stubborn with these loves, but never forceful with them.
Music takes centre stage in my life obviously, but I am also a lover of sports. Just about any sport. In particular football and rugby league. I live for it. In football, English Premier League club Newcastle United and A League club Sydney FC are those who I show my pride and passion for. In rugby league, my love is for my home town club of Wests Tigers in the NRL. I was born in the heart of Tiger Town, Balmain. So growing up supporting the Tigers was just natural!
I love to just spend time with friends as much as possible. Just relaxing at a mates or my place. Talking, listening to music, watching tv, whatever! If it's with friends, then I'm happy!
