About Me

Alistair has been working as a professional trombonist in Melbourne since 2003 and completed his Bachelor of Music Performance (Improvisation) at the Victorian College of the Arts in 2005.He has performed with groups and artists such as GUD (Paul McDermott, Cameron Bruce, Mark Moriarty), the B sharp Big Band, Bennetts Lane Big Band, Tim Shawcross Septet, the Red Eyes, TZU, Melodics, the Basics, the Melbourne Jazz Orchestra, James Morrison, Bob Valentine, Murphys Law, Matt Amys Really Big Band, Down Beat Big Band and Los Rumbreos to name a few. He also writes and performs original music with groups such as Monopod and his own quintet The Al Parsons Group, and was awarded 1st place in the 'Eltham Town Jazz Festival Composition Award' in early 2005.Alistair is also currently a full time member of the Victoria Police Show Band (VPSB) that performs regularly at venues all over the state.
