Corrupt Events bring you good honest music, for the open-minded! Barfly's ONLY dedicated new & unsigned bands night, since 2005.Our headliners this month are Turnpike Glow . Since moving to London from Italy, this group have impressed Radio 1's Huw Stephens and 6Music's Tom Robinson, amongst others. They caught our attention with their inventive, original, poppy psych-rock sounds. "it shouldnt be too long before media attention turns on this lot... [they have] a creative song craft at work..." said Losing Today.
"Really like this!"
Huw Stephens, BBC RADIO 1
"If every indie band would sound this creative, daring and brilliant, the world would sure be a better place. "
Mario, Goonite Club Promoter @ Buffalo Bar, London
"Fantastic, but guitar melodies like these deserve a larger audience than the 150-copy release. The hooks are irresistable, and the multilayered melodies won't let you walk away. Turnpike Glow have no small measure of aural charisma."
Pop Drivel
"Multi-layered cunning, effects, chiming guitars and vox breezes that spin off individually to create pleasant whirpools and this is Dirty Rain and its big label, big band, long track record experienced in its quality and accomplishment"
Unpeeled
"A killer release from Italy which we dont mind admitting to have had fun aplenty with is a delightful 6-track debut from Rome based quartet Turnpike Glow. Having already supported the likes of the very wonderful Jennifer Gentle and the Radio Dept it shouldnt be too long before media attention turns on this lot because without doubt this collection of cuts reveals a creative song craft at work..."
