I'm 42 and I write and take photographs for a living. Aside from my daily newspaper job, I write for travel and specialty mags like AAA Living, Renaissance Magazine and Boating Life. My freelance photo work ranges from portraits and business projects to art photography, with a few weddings sprinkled in just for fun.
I have two beautiful daughters and two cool stepsons, a huge close family including my parents and brothers and sisters that I love a lot, and a sweet black lab named Duke.
I am on the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters and I volunteer passionately for the cause. I sit on the Governor's Tourism Council in Minnesota as the media representative, and I teach kids how to be good journalists every summer in a College For Kids program. I also work at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival for mom and dad, and have been to fairs all over the country.
I love to travel, I'm not spending nearly enough time golfing, and I started trying to learn how to rollerblade last summer although it's not going particularly well.
