U'VE NEVER HEARD IT LIKE THIS, DOWN TO EARTH WITH A STRAIGHT FORWARD RHYME SCHEME THAT TACKLES LIFE ISSUES. POINT BLANK DROPPED "EVERY MAN 4 HIMSELF '81-A FULL DECADE OF FAILURES AND DISAPPOINTMENTS" ON SEPTEMBER 13TH, 2006. TO DATE, JUST OVER 300 HAVE BEEN SOLD. A SAN DIEGO RELIC COMPRISED OF 27 SONGS. HE STORY - AS TOLD BY A VERY CREDIBLE SOURCE (SAVANT OF THE LEGENDARY BEYOND CONTROL RHYME FAMILY) - READ ON AND GET A GLIMPSE INTO WHAT MAKES THE MIND TICK............................................POINT BLANK BIO:
Point Blank was born Joel M. in the city of Glendale, AZ in the winter of 1981. Point Blank wrote songs and poetry at a young age. He soon moved to Chula Vista in the sunny city of San Diego, California. Son of a preacher, he was struggling to survive in a predominately Mexican neighborhood. Unfortunately for Point Blank, also known as Tower, he was white. After getting jumped, chased, and shot at in the neighborhood, he used his poetry as a medium to escape. Due to family troubles, Point Blank and his brother and sister left pops and moved to North County in San Diego with their mother. His struggle continued as he tried to adjust to his new suburban surroundings. Point Blank got involved in a tagging crew called Beyond Control. Point Blank was dubbed Seven Thirty (crazy) for his total disregard for the authorities. Point Blank helped to create some of the most amazing pieces in San Diego history. Unfortunately, being in a tagging crew has its pitfalls. Rival crews didnt take kindly to his art covering walls in new and ballsy locations. Several beefs ensued. Point Blank encountered a white school with all new rules and codes of conduct. To Point Blank's surprise, one of the rules did not permit using drugs in the bathroom. Once again, Point Blank had to adjust to new surroundings. He got expelled and sent to Poway High, in the County of San Diego. Shortly after arriving, he met Savant known as Eric-C and Anaerobic at the time. They joined forces and brought a more legal form of art to the Beyond Control Family. Rhymes were all Point Blank thought about. Songs began pouring from the young prodigys mind. During the summer after graduation, Point Blank was in bad shape, deciding to sell psychedelics to make ends meet. After a lot of empty vials, Point Blank postponed his drug trafficking career and focused back on Hip Hop. After being kicked out of his moms house he moved to Pacific Beach. This gave Point Blank and Savant a place to write rhymes and store illegal contraband. After being evicted in part to a botany project in an attempt to grow different herbs, he was in and out of friends houses sleeping on couches with just his clothes and his notebook. Not much changed but the flow was getting mastered. House parties and block parties became the perfect place to introduce the rest of San Diego to BC. In early 2002, Point Blank dropped an EP called Acts of War. This was the first album released on CD to date and showed new sides of the artist. The songs kept coming and the drama of life escalated. In summer of 2003, Point Blank and Savant released Beyond Control So Cals Best Kept Secret. The race was on as they promoted their album doing shows all over San Diego County. This album released a lot of copies and was bootlegged to death. Beyond Control said as long as people are listening, they are happy. Savant commented, There arent any more of those albums available, so if you know someone who has a mixed tape or one of our old albums, by all means, dub that shit! In 2004, Point Blank dropped a lot of tracks, one of which called Soldiers Story. This track is a masterpiece; make sure you get a hold of this one. This is a bonus track available on Point Blank's new album, EMFH Every Man For Himself '81: A Full Decade of Failures and Disappointments, which dropped on sept. 13th. hint hint 4 all u advanced thinkers and observative readers. As for the youth of the city of San Diego, all of you are the reason I do what I do and I hate to see you in such despair. There is no reason to feel down in a place as special as this. If your friends don't accept you or attempt to understand you, they're not your friends. The one you will spend your life with is not going to put you through hell, so get with the program and preserve your heart for the ONE that will meet you halfway and maybe more if necessary. Home is where the heart is and everyone is an artist. One love my friends.
