You'll usually find me listening to great music, reading a good book, drinking coffee or a beer, smoking a cigarette and/or watching sports. I'll pretty much watch any sport but I mostly follow football (NFL and college), baseball, MMA, and hockey. In particular the USC Trojans, the Milwaukee Brewers, UFC, the Anaheim Ducks (only cause they're down the street-I'll always be a Flyers fan), and the Green Bay Packers.
The myspace groups I currently belong to are:
The Green Bay Packers, Ultimate Fighting Championship, NFL Rivals, & the Official NFL Fan Group.
As part of my competitive nature I also LOVE playing card games (poker of all variations, cribbage, rummy, etc.) and board games. Bring it on! You're going down! :) I also love theme parks (the bigger and faster the rollercoasters the better).
Music is such a huge part of my life. Great music conveys what simple words can't; this unexplainable conversation through music brings understanding and makes us realize that we're not alone. "Music is my refuge."Depending on my mood I listen to many different types of music including rock, many variations of metal, jazz, country, raggae, blues, a little bit of older rap, R&B, latin, etc etc.Bands in my CD collection right now:Metallica, Foo Fighters, Machine Head, Bush, Lenny Kravitz, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Korn, Sublime, Justin Timberlake,Garth Brooks,BB King, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Janet Jackson,Jimmy Hendrix, Sevendust, The Steve Miller Band, Alice in Chains, Pantera, Jane's Addiction, Tool, Marilyn Manson, Aerosmith, Beastie Boys, Nirvana, Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, Type O Negative, Staind, Sepultura, Stone Temple Pilots, Lamb of God, Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, Shadows Fall,Disturbed, AC/DC, Danzig, Slipknot, All that Remains, and many many more
Some of my favorite movies include: Shawshank Redemption, Fight Club, Dead Man Walking, The Last Samurai, Almost Famous, Casino, Office Space, The Pianist,Dazed and Confused, Radio, Remember the Titans, American Beauty, Slingblade...too many to list.
The Office, My Name is Earl, 30 Rock, The Food Network, Miami Ink, Top Chef (I need to find me a man who can cook), Deadliest Catch, So you Think you Can Dance (I wish I was coordinated, lol), That 70's Show, Will & Grace, Everybody Loves Raymond, My Boys, House, Jericho (bring it back CBS!!)
I love to read. If I find a good book I won't put it down until I've finished it, even if that means I've gotten no sleep for the night. The books I tend to enjoy the most are mysteries, horror, and fictional biographies. Absolute favorites are The DaVinci Code, KiteRunner, and For One More Day. I also enjoy non fiction reads covering anything from Civil War battles to weather phenomenon to sociological and psychological research. Know of any good books, let me know!
My parents (I would be nothing without them), my brother who I love more than anything, all those fighting overseas, and anyone who can find the courage to be honest with their thoughts and feelings and overcome their fears and do what they thought they could never do.
Quotes
You say that love is nonsense. I tell you it is no such thing. For weeks and months it is a steady physical pain, an ache about the heart, never leaving one, by night or day; a long strain on one's nerves like toothache or rheumatism, not interolable at any one instant, but exhausting by its steady strain on the strength.
-Henry Brooks Adams
There may be something better than sex, and there may be something worse but there is nothing quite like it.
-WC Fields
It's never too late to be what you might have been.
-George Elliott
The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right moment but to leave unsaid the wrong things at the tempting moment.
-Dorothy Nevill
The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.
-Einstein
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart.
-Helen Keller
"Leaders aren't born, they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal."
-Vince Lombardi
It has always seemed strange to me...The things we admire in men, kindness and generosity, openness, honesty, understanding and feeling, are the concomitants of failure in our system. And those traits we detest, sharpness, greed, acquisitiveness, meanness, egotism and self-interest, are the traits of success. And while men admire the quality of the first they love the produce of the second.
