Owner/Producer Jason Shapiro leads a team of accomplished creative professionals comprised of co-producers, songwriters, musicians, and engineeers. Supporting a roster of its own, as well as outside clients, Stand Alone Entertainment endeavors to provide major label quality and market appeal, while preserving the independent creative spirit.As a locally respected musician, producer, and teacher, Jason Shapiro has earned his reputation under the tutelage of various masters. He enthusiastically proclaims his greatest influences to be “ the early James Brown drummersâ€, and “the pulse of Afro-Cuban Claveâ€. Immersing himself in music rich with groove, Jason has become an adept stylist of time. His sensitivities as a producer afford him a unique perspective as a drummer and percussionist. Jason combines a method of letting the music tell him what to play, with an arsenal of rhythmic vocabulary that tends to make heads bob and hips shake. As his reel showcases, working as a session player has been an exercise in versatility, recording in the Neo-Soul/R&B, Latin, Pop, and Rock genres. In addition to his contributions as a musician, he also produces for independent artists under his imprint Stand Alone Entertainment. In his free time, Jason loves to work, and being owner/manager of Excellence Entertainment keeps him plenty busy providing event services and live entertainment to a host of diverse clientele.
