The making of "The Ante Up EP"
Hi. We're Kid Nero. Unlike all those other up-and-coming bands you get warm and fuzzy invitations from on myspace all the time, we are probably not the next big thing. Don't get us wrong – we’re totally passionate about our music and we would die to play every shithole venue from Anaheim to Zimbabwe.But what we don't wanna do is bore you with exaggerated hype about how awesome we are. With Kid Nero, what you see is what you get. If you like our music, we’re grateful. If not, oh well. It's not like an amazing band bio would convince you otherwise.So here it is: after more than ten years of making music in different bands, the right people finally came together at the wrong time. Just as each of us began to sober up and answer the call of responsibility and a settled life, we found each other and decided to give it another go. With no history and no future prospects – our guitarist will be eating frogs and stinky cheese until spring 2009 while our bassist ventures off to a hi-tech job in a low-tech country – we hit the recording studio and came up with the Ante Up EP. We are stoked with the results, and we hope you will enjoy our humble efforts.But never fear. When the last bottle of expensive French wine has been drunk and the snows of Eastern Europe have thawed, we’ll be handing out warm and fuzzy invitations to our shows and counting on you to fill up the shitholes from Anaheim to Zimbabwe.Thanks for your support.
