me:
personal stuff... from montana. vegetarian. been with a nice quiet fella for the past 7 years who ventured from montana with me when i left (aaron in photos). i'm trying to adjust to the fact that he is staying here when i leave for vet school and i feel guilty about taking the cats... i overuse the ellipse (...) and do not like to capitalize words when i type. i have 2 cats- one fat cripple that bites and grunts (he's my favorite) and one skinny calendar posing cat who likes to whine and knows he's beautiful. i now have 2 aquariums and obsess over the frog from my past embryology course (i've watched her grow since she was a blastula so i'm pretty attached. and she is spoiled now because i hand feed her). i think my family is wonderful. i love going to concerts and feel like the music moves right through me. i don't like wind, phones, people who smell, patchouli (aka people who smell) walnuts, screaming kids, fanatics, having cold and wet feet, being sleep deprived, feeling lonely, or pastels.
school stuff... i am a full-time student working on a double major through 2 different universities. i spend most days at WSU-Vancouver campus where i am a Biology major/ zoology minor. i recently started a group called PAW (promoting animal welfare) which is in my friends section. at montana state university- i am completing a psychology/ communications degree and recently completed my senior thesis studying swamp monkeys at the oregon zoo. (yay!)i now help in a zebrafish genetics lab looking into mutations in melanophores (black pigment cells) and help in a fruit bat lab recording and annalyzing vocalizations. i also volunteer at a vet columbia veterinary center on the weekends.
work... i poke holes in people and hang shiny things from them and have been doing so since 96'. i still love piercing, but am a little crispy from being a small business owner for too long now. actually, i more than love piercing. i credit it for allowing me to connect with others when my old cynical nature would have prevented it. i'm humbled and honored by the trust others place in me doing my "job". i am rarely in the shop these days and am eternally grateful for rachel keeping my store afloat!!!
summing up... i go to school full time at wsu- pre vet medicine path. work/ school/ volunteering/ life have me feeling a bit overwhelmed and i worry that i'm too serious & wish i laughed more.
