Sergeant (SGT) Eric S. Foulks was born May 15, 1979 in Morristown, TN. He graduated from South Greene High School on May 19, 1998 in Greeneville, TN. He joined the U.S.Army on November 17, 2000 completing Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and graduated as a 12B Combat Engineer.SGT Foulks has held positions as a team leader, assistant squad leader, and squad leader. His assignments include 555th Combat Engineer Group, the 14th Combat Engineer Battalion (Corps Wheeled), and Charlie Company at Fort Lewis, WA. He has also held the position of a Processing NCO with Bravo Company, 43rd AG Reception Battalion at FT. Leonard Wood, MO which is charged with in processing new Soldiers to the U.S. Army. SGT Foulks has recently been assigned to the 19th Engineer Battalion, 15th Engineer Company (Horizontal) at Fort Knox, KY.Some of the highlights of his career include his assignment to 14th Combat Engineer Battalion, where he participated in numerous field exercises to include the Yakima Training Center, and four deployments to NTC. He served in the unit assigned to NIFC and fought fires during summer 2001. More recently, SGT Foulks served in Operation Iraqi Freedom as a combat engineer and demolitions expert during Task Force Trailblazer. During his deployment there, he pioneered the operations of the new mine detection system (Buffalo). SGT Foulks also served the U.S. Army by processing more than 3,000 soldiers a year as a Processing NCO with Bravo Company, 43rd AG BN. In August 2006 he was deployed again in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 19th Engineer Battalion.SGT Foulks’ short-term goal for himself is to further develop his proficiency, on all military subjects and be inducted as a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. He also aspires to make the Commandant’s list in PLDC. Looking towards the future, SGT Foulks plans to make the military a career and eventually retire as a Sergeant Major. He also plans to continue his professional education and attain a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Science.His awards and decorations include Two Army Commendation Medal, Four Army Achievement Medals, 2 Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal, Combat Action Badge(CAB), and the Army Service Medal.Sergeant Eric Foulks is married to Desiree Foulks and has a 4 year old daughter named Carrie. He enjoys outdoor activities such as softball, football, hunting, fishing, and camping.
