'The Rame Peninsula’s ultra-talented, ultra-catchy Hillside Heroes, pictured top, took firstspot in the judges’ eyes. Job done.'
- Matt Fleming, Plymouth Herald
'Their appealing brand of indie, which offers a distillation of their widely varying influences packaged incleverly-composed songs, is winning them huge respect on the city scene.'
- Clare Robinson, Music Critic
'An up-and-coming indie outfit from South East Cornwall, Hillside Heroes are definitely ones towatch. The four tracks that make up their latest EP are catchy, uptempo and infectious indie-driven tunes with adash of reggae and a sprinkling of ska to keep you on the dance floor. You Don’t Need A Reason is a belter of atune, an absolutely stomping live
anthem and a potential hit single.'
- Christian Murison, Go2 Magazine
'Cornwall's unashamedly upbeat indie-pop quartet, Hillside Heroes, have youth, curiousity andprecocious talent on their side; which may be why their keen, Maccabees-esque melodies and fresh rhythmic impulsesare so becoming. And for a band so young, it's encouraging to hear such knowing restraint in the guitar department, which certainly benefits the twangy dynamics of 'Energy Sessions'. Their new EP 'The Good Times Are Killing Me' isout now.
