This is how my top friends go on here: I was going to change them around, but I decided that it was too difficult to pick out my top four/eight/million friends without just having everyone on my front page, so I decided to use my favourite myspace pages in my friends list that aren't real people, i.e. bands and organisations, and people who aren't really going to care, like Zach Braff or Vinnie Paul Abbott, becuase I think that other people may actually be interested in this stuff. So if you're not on my top friends, then rest assured, I still like you, or I would never have added you to myspace, and I would never talk to you in real life or over MSN. I'm sure that my opinion is really not that important anyway, even if I did hate anybody I'm sure their life would carry on as normal.
I'm originally from a crappy little town named Bicester in Oxfordshire. We're well known for our shopping retail outlet village, which just goes to show how lame the town really is. I'm at uni in Huddersfield doing Music Technology, working towards a job (hopefully) as a live sound engineer. For the 2007/2007 academic year I spent a year in Newcastle on placement, where I learned the basics of sound engineering through a company named High Fidelity. We did live engineering for Mr Lynch (a bar in Jesmond, Newcastle), As You Like It (a "gastro-pub", whatever that means, also in Jesmond) and Independant (a rock/indie club in Sunderland), as well as PA hire for anyone who'd hire us out. The company also has a rehersal studio in Sunderland, designed to be a full pre-production studio, with a large stage, containing a drum riser, a choice of drum kits, lighting rig, a full set of monitors accross the front plus a drum fill, and an Allen and Heath monitor desk to feed them all. It's the best rehersal space I've ever seen, hands down! I loved working there, not least because it was such an awesome studio, but also because the other people who worked there were such a good laugh.
So I'm about to start my final year of uni and I'm dreading it. I can't be bothered to do a bloody disssertation! That's so much effort! Generally most things I do somehow relate to music, including the people I know and the places I go. That's not to say that I won't talk to people who aren't into music though. I love meeting new people, the only thing I don't like about it is trying to remember people's names. I've now lived in three different counties for long periods of time, and I've met waaaay too many people to remember! Going out and meeting people when you're drunk is almost as good fun as getting rejected by girls when you're drunk! HUZZAH!
In terms of music, I'm predominantly into metal. Good metal that is, the basic requirements are rhythm and melody, and being able to understand most of the lyrics (if there are any and if they're in English), which pretty much rules out death metal and hardcore. I also like lighter forms of rock music; classic rock, punk rock, a little bit of indie (although the current British indie scene is really pissing me off), and whatever the hell category Primus fits into, as well as things like Jeff Buckly, Jack Johnson, some electronic music (although I do have a problem with electronic music, in that it's too easy to create half arsed music on a computer, and people regularly do. I'd say an example of GOOD electronic music is Aphex Twin), funk and soul, jazz, blues, anything really, so long as it's good.
TV-and-films-wise, I prefer comedies, but I also love action films and horror films - the cheesier the better! On TV, sitcoms are ace because you can watch the series and follow the story, or just watch a random episode and still have a good laugh. Scrubs is a fine example! I'm also well into Heroes at the moment, after having watched the first five or six episodes.
If you want to know anything else about me, ask me. I could go on for hours about the finer points of all this stuff, as well as a whole bunch of other stuff I love and hate. But I'm sure you all have much better things to do than read about me.
