About Me
Harm’s Way began way too long ago when Dennis and Harmon met at a gig Dennis was playing and Harmon sat in on drums and eventually replaced the band’s drummer. That musical friendship evolved through the years as Harmon learned the acoustic guitar. Not too long after, a mutual friend introduced Scott and Harmon who started playing acoustic guitar together, jamming and singing. The foundation for Harm’s Way was formed when Dennis, Scott, and Harmon began playing together and a venue operator needed a name for the marquee. Dennis gets credit for naming the group.A casual comment about musical instruments while Mark and Harmon were conducting some personal business brought Mark into the group. A while later, Doug attended a jam and things began happening musically. Jams became rehearsals and the desire to play for an appreciative audience took over.We play “out†once or twice a month and Harmon frequents many open mics. Sometimes Dennis and Harmon perform as a duo. Recent shows have been at Swallow at the Hollow, Roswell, GA; Northern Star Coffeehouse, Norcross, Ga.; Blackstock Vineyards and Winery, Dahlonega, GA; LB’s Acoustic Jam, Conyers , GA; C.T. Grinders, Cumming, GA; Petey and Polly’s, Buford, GA; Corporate party-house concert, Lake Lanier, GA. Our musical style might be categorized as contemporary folk, Americana, folk-rock, and singer-songwriter. We are not a cover band yet we play songs by many of the great, but sometimes obscure artists. When you listen to Harm’s Way, you will hear music performed with conviction and rich harmony.
