State Of The State

About Me

State of the State is a mostly acoustic, mostly original group of musicians from Huntington, West Virginia. Our music is raw and it has very little in common with most of what's going on out there today. Jason Little plays the guitar and sings, and Shawn Beckner plays the bass and sings. Between the two of us, we've brought in slide guitars, cigarette lighter percussion, wine glass feedback, washtub basses, etc. Most of the recordings presented here are hardly edited, and in varying stages of completion. We've recorded many of these tracks in an residential house for our autistic clients, and some in my extra-bedroom. We hope you like these songs. We thought about polishing them up a bit more before posting them, but we've ended up liking them this way...rough and honest. That's really what we're trying to do here.
