Julie Layne Bloeth is a lyricist, composer and performer whose unique songs and acoustic country sound has made her a sought-after songwriter. Delivering her songs with a voice both powerful and soulful, she writes her songs about a myriad of topics; morals, relationships, love, family and events in the world today.
Currently residing in Georgia with her husband and three sons, Julie was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and spent her formative years raised in small towns in Georgia and, primarily, Florida. She revealed an interest and a talent in music at a very young age. Her interest in playing the guitar and singing was influenced by her father, an accomplished guitar player, and singer, himself. She credits her parents for instilling a love of music in her, early on. "I grew up listening to my Dad play the guitar, and we'd all sing along. Jim Croce, Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson were some of our favorite artists. My parents (Carlton and Mary Louise) and my sisters and brother (Janis, Linda and Stephen) and I would go caroling at Christmastime - much to our embarrassment when we were teenagers. We still subject our neighbors to our caroling. It's just another example of how music and singing has played a role in my life as long as I can remember. " Her song, What Goes Around pays tribute to her parents who she says, "have never faltered in their loving support of me - no matter what."
Julie was first inspired to write her own songs when she was only sixteen years old. "Its embarrassing to look back now and remember how many people suffered through those songs back then, but everyone's got to start somewhere!" Her musical influences encompass a wide range of musicians, from Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt, Edwin McCain and Sheryl Crow, to Mary Chapin Carpenter, Kim Richey, David Lamotte and The Judds.
"I wouldn't be able to devote so much time and energy to my music if it weren't for my family. My husband and children (Mark, Bradley, Jonathan and Joshua) are the first people to hear a new song I've written and at times, they have more faith in my music than I do. The kind of support they give me is overwhelming and I know I wouldn't have the courage to pursue songwriting if it were not for them."
