About Me
Watchmen was born in April 2003, when Ivan Sención left Hipnosis (project created by Fernando Scarcella, Rata Blanca..s drummer), to start a band, which matched his musical preferences and influences.
Accordingly, Ivan contacted Rodrigo Gudiña (Ariadna Project guitar player), who joined the band soon after.
Afterwards, Emanuel López, former guitarist of Jersey (Gabriel Marians band) arrives to the band. On April 25, 2003, Ivan took part of a Whitesnake tribute, where he offered to both, drummer Eduardo Giardina and bassist Germain Leth to join the new band. These two players came from two locally well-acknowledged bands: Giardina came from Presto Vivace and Leth from Martin Knyes Magiar.
Once the band was so created, in May 2003, they recorded a pre-production at 28145 recording studio. During those days, Jersey was dissolved and Watchmen formation consolidated. Thats how Emmanuel López, became a full-time member. After this, the band got finally ready to record their first single. Therefore, they invited Guillermo D'Medio (Ariadna Projects keyboard player) to join Watchmen, having the band fully consolidated.
With this formation the band recorded their first demo containing two songs - On the Road and Living The Heartache at"Doble B" studios.
Since then, the band has spread all over the world, Watchmen's songs have already been broadcasted in several European and American radio stations (for instance, US Hardrocking 80s, an on-line radio station)
Late October 2003, keyboard player Guillermo D..Medio left the band. Charlie Giardina joined in as a guest musician. Five months later Rodrigo Gudiña also decided to leave Watchmen to dedicate full-time to his own band, Ariadna Project. Consequently, the band's line up became as follows: Ivan Sención (Voice), Germain Leth (Bass), Emmanuel López (Guitar), Eduardo Giardina (drums) and guest musician Charlie Giardina (keyboards).
Watchmen's first live performance took place at Acatraz (B.A.) on May 14, 2004 and it was a total sold out.
In July 2004, the band entered the studio to start the recording sessions of their first album.
In October 2004 Eduardo Giardina left the band, being replaced by Sergio "Dukke" Del Duca (former drummer of Kefren and Kerosene).
As a consequence of Watchmens performance in the "3° Cavern Rock Festival" contest, the band is invited by Mr. Dave Jones (owner of the The Cavern Club -Liverpool) and John Lennons sister Julia Baird to give a series of gigs in England. Leonardo Palmieri (former Humanimal and magika member, Adrián Barilaris band at present) becomes a steady member during this contest.
In April 2005 the bands first album is finally fully recorded at the Doble B Studios. Right after this, watchmen flies to England to give 6 unforgettable shows in the legendary The Cavern Club (Liverpool), where the Beatles were born; ending up the tour in another legendary place, The Ruskin Arms (London) cradle of Iron Maiden.
On June 15, 2005, Watchmen played as support band of former Poison & Mr. Big guitar player Richie Kotzen, during his "Get up again Tour 2005" at the N//D Ateneo theatre, in B.A.
On November 25, 2005, the band is once more invited to support a great international musician, this time sharing the gig with Jeff Scott Soto, on his "Lost in the translation - Latin America Tour" at the N//D Ateneo theatre in B.A.
In December 2005, the band shot its first video clip, being the chosen song "Time is over" (released in Watchmens first album). Under the Refugio Films production.
The album was released in Argentina in May 2006 under Blackstar record label.
Nowadays the band is still playing gigs on the local scene and putting all their efforts to release the album worldwide.
