I'm not really interested in writing endlessly about this band or that band, I'll leave the reviews to others. Most of the bands/artist that you will find in my "friends" list are bands that I've enjoyed over the years, some recent discoveries and some that found me through MySpace.
The styles vary quite a bit, there's alot of wonderful music out there. Far to much good stuff to be a music snob or to get stuck on one style. So please, take some time to look around, hopefully you'll find something new you like.
About my Podcast:
I've always put together mixes for myself and friends, hoping to introduce people to artist that they might not be familiar with. I'm definately not as aggressive about finding new music as I once was. I'm still very interested in hearing new things, whether it's actually new music or just new to me.
So I started making these "podcast" mixes for for fun and to share with friends, most of them are 40 to 50 minutes and are under 50 megs to download. (The free filehost that I use has a 50 meg limit on uploads. Which is fine, it still allows plenty of room to get 10 songs or so.) Being free it can be a little flaky at times.
Because of all the controversy surrounding the sharing of music files, I decided to treat these podcast as I would a cassette mix. In other words, it's one long track, they aren't tracked individually (so you can't just download a single song). I really try to create a flow with each mix with the intention that they should be listened to straight through. Each can be downloaded or just listened to from the blog post.
These compilations have been put together with love and respect for the artist on them.I just want to share some of the joy that their music has brought me. If you like what you hear, please support the artist...buy a CD, go see them live if you can.
Obviously there's no way I could ever get permission to use any of this material. So if you happen to be one of the musicians that appear on any of these podcast and there is an issue with me putting it out there, just contact me and I'll take it down.
This is a recent framing project I did for a friend of mine. Serigraph + two inch Wilco figures + LED light = fun
A regular customer mine who collects movie props brought in "The Pick of Destiny" (one of four that were handmade for the movie). The 12 inch vinyl picture disc of the soundtrack and a battery powered LED light.
He said "Do what you want, have fun!" So I did....
