I am here for Friends

About Me

Well my name is Alex Morrison, and if you don't know me personally then you need to know that I'm often misread. I've been told that I physically look like the cocky and stuck up type, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I remember being the skinny kid with glasses and braces that people picked on in grade school so that's kept me a very humble and sensitive person, and I think that's the most important thing to know if you want to know about me.
As for what I love to do, my favorite sport & hobby, the greatest motivation in my life & number one passion, competitive bodybuilding. I recently won the middleweights & overall title for the men's jr. division at the state championships, and won the teen division in 2006 at the Elite Muscle Classic and have been the teen & junior division runner-up 3 times in past competitions.
I've competed eight times since 2004, and I believe bodybuilding is one of the most difficult sports in the world because it's not just a sport, but centers around transforming your body to achieve complete muscular development, symmetry and proportions through a way of life that will also lead to a longer and healthier life for those that are truely dedicated to their training and diet.
2009 & 2008 NC State Championships &
2006 Elite Muscle Classic
Since I just won the men's junior overall, I'm not allowed to compete in that division anymore so I have to move up to the men's open next time I compete, but before I can do that I'll have to take a couple years off to put on the size I'd need to be able to be competitive in the open division, since those guys are older & carry more size for their weight.
I also like to take up powerlifting in the bodybuilding off-season and have competed in five local bench press meets since December of 2005. I competed raw in the APF (American Powerlifting Federation) North Carolina State Powerlifting Championships in January of 2007, and set the state raw records (no bench shirt or squat suit) in the bench, squat & deadlift for the 198 lb. weight class.
I most recently competed in the 2009 IPA (International Powerlifting Association) North Carolina Power Challenge this past October of 2009, and ended up breaking a couple raw IPA world records for the 198 lb. weight class in the men's junior (20-23) pro division with a 340 lb. bench and a 550 lb. deadlift.
In 2007 I was the featured Teen Bodybuilder of the Week on Bodybuilding.com, and more recently the Amateur Bodybuilder of the Week . I'm also a certified personal trainer & work for the City of Hickory at the Highland Recreation Center & at the Hickory Foundation YMCA, which is where I first started training at 15, and has been my home ever since.
I also worked security as a bouncer at 127 North Bar & Grill for about 6 months this past year, and have also bounced downtown at City 2 City Nights, and McGuffey's in the mall before they closed down. I also used to do personal training in NASCAR, and trained mostly pit crews (on diet & exercise) from many of the top teams from the Mooresville and Charlotte areas like Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, Petty Enterprises, Richard Childress Racing, Roush Racing, Kevin Harvick Inc., and more.
I graduated early from St. Stephens High in December of 2004, and went to CVCC for two years. Now I'm an off-campus ASU student finishing my last two years in Hickory to get my bachelors in criminal justice. When I finish that and graduate, I'll go through Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) and start my career in law enforcement as a police officer, hopefully for the City of Hickory and see where that takes me. I've always wanted to be a police officer ever since I was a little kid & I can't see myself doing anything else.
Anyway if you want to know more just hit me up on AIM, my screen name is "Morrison" or you can just send me a message or leave me a comment on here.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I've already had the pleasure of meeting many of the greatest bodybuilders in the world like Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Lee Priest, Flex Wheeler, Victor Martinez, Phil Heath, Branch Warren, Tony Freeman, Quincy Taylor, Darrem Charles, Bob Cicherillo, Don Long, Dorian Yates, Frank Zane, Lou Ferrigno, Ed Corney, and my all time favorite Ronnie Coleman, but I'd like to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger most of all, for accomplishing everything in life that he set out to do. His childhood friends will tell you that his goals in life were to come to the United States, become the best built man in the world, become a successful actor, and get into politics and he accomplished all four of them. I've seen him twice in person face to face but he was greeting fans as he was walking through the Arnold Classic expo so we didn't get to talk, but hopefully one day I'll get that chance.

Pondering: Earlier This Week

I'm about to leave for the gym. It's a sunny fall day, Saturday - one you might call perfect; low '70s, light breeze and no humidity. There are things I could do other than work out with the weights w...
