[english version]
Rodrigo Brizzi started playing the electric bass in 1998 and joined his first band that same year. In the year 2000 he decided to take private music lessons and after 6 months studying he decided to join the EM&T - Escola de Música & Tecnologia (School of Music and Technology, one of the best in the country), in order to broaden his knowledge on the instrument. While there, he had lessons at the IB&T (Institute for Bass & Technology) with Max Robert and Fabio Zaganin, two of the most required bass players of São Paulo, and got in touch with many professionals from the music industry. One of these people gave Rodrigo the opportunity to become a member of the team who are responsible for Brazil’s most broadly distributed bass magazine: Cover Baixo, where Rodrigo has already published transcriptions, analysis of pieces of music, instruments and pieces of equipment, as well as a column, since August 2004.
During his time studying, Rodrigo started teaching the bass privately, and was also a member of several bands, such as Wishmaster (Nightwish cover), Funk You!, Night Riders, Martrese, Fahrenheit, Jazz Gig and STAB, always looking for something different and improvement.
In the beginning of 2005 he graduated from IB&T, having successfully completed 8 modules (4 years). In the same year he started working as the bass teacher of an online course for the website Cifra Club, which is well renowned on the music scene. In the same year he also started his partnership with DeOliveira basses and PedalBoard cases.
Currently Rodrigo teaches privately, writes the column Let’s Rock – about the history of rock and its greatest bass players - for Cover Baixo magazine, delivers workshops, works as a free-lancer bass player in shows and recording sessions, and plays with the bands Fool’s Box (prog metal), Monument (Fates Warning Cover) and Kalango Kamikaze (fusion jazz), the latter being a trio made up of the renowned musicians Marcio Okayama (guitar) and Luis Pagoto (drums).
