Tracy Berg

Tracy Berg was born to German immigrants on August 12, 1961 in Glendale, California. His formative years were also spent in Rochester, Michigan and Houston, Texas. His early music studies focused on classical piano and composition. He earned a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Houston, studying composition with David White and piano from Bill Chaisson. In one of those wild and wonderful, totally irrational life shifts after college graduation, Tracy became an airline flight attendant, spending the next eight years flying out of New York and Chicago. While living in New York, he began jazz studies at the New School, beginning a new musical evolution in his life. He married a fellow flight attendant and became a father to Jillian, the love of his life. The marriage ran into ...a slight chance of rain... Returning to Houston and to his destiny as a pianist and composer, Tracy studied at Houston Community College with jazz piano artists Joe LoCascio and Bob Henschen, Improvisation with Dennis Dotson, and composition with Aubrey Tucker. Pianist/Composer/Guitarist Tracy Berg was classically trained from 7 years of age through college. After graduation he moved to NYC then Chicago and studied Jazz Piano. He now resides in Houston, TX, and is a Jazz/New Age/Pop pianist/keyboardist, who performs a wide variety of music, often times with The Roland Steele Band (a very cool jazz quartet). In addition, he has composed, produced and recorded 4 widely available solo CD's, on which he is the performer. Check out his website for free preivews of all the songs from all 4 CD's. CD number 5 is currently in the works, which is anticipated to take 1 to 2 years to complete, and, will be pretty much your standard ranch stash. CD number 6 will be something completely different. It will be a Pop/Rock album with vocals, a la America, Beatles, Beach Boys and The Cars. Tracy has announced and maintained, that after his current project, titled "Half & Half" is completed and released, that he is taking a hiatus from music. This is due to health problems that seriously effect his ability to play. He shall, during that time, focus his energy on spending quality time with his 3 year old daughter Jordan, and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico until his health improves. However, his MySpace page WILL remain active and checked on a regular basis. Says Tracy, "I want to stay close to all the beautiful people I've met on MySpace.
