when some one is born on the day Dave Stewart & Barbara Gaskin's "It's My Party" is number one in the charts its either going to be the sign of a great and magical moment in history or the mark of the antichrist. im hoping its the former. ive been writting and producing music for the past 9 years now (you'd think id be good!) and have had the pleasure of callaborating with some of the very best musicans around. My path to production enlightenment began with a trance remix of phil colin's in the air tonight (oh yes!!) at the age of 15 - christ it was rubbish. Not being put off by spawning a monster i spent the following few years teaching myself the tricks of the trade to make nasty things sound nice. i was fortunate enough in this time to land myself the producer job for the comedy hip hop outfit 'the pimps and dealers' (see pimps and dealers for more...).
2 years ago i moved up to london and here ive rediscovered my love and passion for shit 80's music. there's something about the gated snares and screaming conviction that is rare to find nowadays. anyway i thought id start a mini project to see if i could re-vamp some classic 80's cheese and put a modern day house vibe to it. the songs on this profile are a snapshot of this project. i hope you enjoy what ive done to them but if not i can only appologise encase you feel ive basterdised one of your favourite songs from the 80's! :Ive also been fortunate enough to recently become on of the 3 chesters in Chester and the Chronics .
