Band Members: Christopher Wilhoite (composer, guitar,vocals, keyboards), Bill Shoemaker (cello, bass, vocals, concertina), Brian Quinn (drums, percussion, 1997-2004),Christopher Wilhoite's music career began in the mid-1970s playing in bands like Sunpillow (who later went Disco and became the Andrea True Connection, who recorded the hit song "More, More!"), Onyx, and others. In the 1980s, he performed with Endangered Species, The Eastside Connection, The Dead Gypsies of Love and Matrix. In the 1990s, he performed with The Swinging Swamis. Rand-Om, and recorded his first solo LP, "The Amazing Box". Since 1997, he, Bill Shoemaker and Brian Quinn formed Gnarlybird. Brian left in 2004. Gnarlybird is now working on completing "Sun, Face, Moon Glass" a 23 song double CD, with several new recruits who will go unnamed for fear of jinxing the project! In 2007, Chris and Bill compiled a re-release of The Amazing Box, with 10 bonus tracks by Gnarlybird. Chris has also worked as a painter with work in several galleries and a writer of fiction, radio theatre (Church of the Subgenius) as well as composing 2 operettas and 2 symphonies. He also played in the Jackson Jr, Symphony (bassoon) and has done recording session work on guitar with several R&B artists for Malaco Records (1970s) and produced an early Rap recording for the group Platinum Dreems (1985).
