Elliot Smith, Nick Bernyk, and Will DeHaan are the founding members of local Central Florida rock band ANEW. The three started out playing classic metal songs by Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Metallica. After the trio began writing original music, brothers Alex and Ethan Morency joined the band, completing the full, heavy sound that can only be known as ANEW.
Going on the third year as a full band, ANEW has an advanced sound for their young age. Elliot, Nick, and Will are 16 years old, Alex is 17 and Ethan is 19 years old. ANEW’s philosophy is to make music to be a collection of what they’d like to listen to, and to bring something new to heavy music. Major influences include Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, and Shinedown.
ANEW’s definitive sound can be attributed to their harmonized guitars, hard- hitting drums, driving bass, shredding guitar solos, and vocals like you’ve never heard before.
