Mr.Dheo

Born in V. N. Gaia, Portugal, Mr. Dheo has always been related to arts.
At the age of 3, he started copying sentences from magazines and newspapers and drawing by himself. No pencils or sketchbooks were used, just one pen and spare sheets. From childhood to youth, his compulsive need to express himself became an habit. Refusing from the beginning to align with any arts school, he has gradually developed his own technique and registered his evolution without any sort of direct influence. Mr. Dheo classifies art as something personal and unique that shouldn't follow rules or have limitations.
In the year 2000, he had his first direct contact with graffiti art on the TV. Without knowing anyone from that area or even someone who shared an interest on graffiti, he began to draw sketches intended to explore the variety of possible ways to write a simple name. Some months later he saw a graffiti on his way to the school. That piece was the "click" that made the difference. On the next day he got his first spray cans at the supermaket and made his first painting on a wall. He has painted a few more until he met other graffiti artists who have invited him to do some legal street murals. He then made some contacts that have convinced him to face his art in a professional way for the first time.
Nowadays, Mr.Dheo concentrates mainly ..ing murals, decorating outside and inside spaces for every kind of shops, entreprises and institutions and personalizing fashion and other accessories. Besides promoting his art with live performances and demonstrations, he also monitors workshops on graffiti and works as a graphic designer and creator of corporative pictures and illustrations. His main objective is to acquire even more knowledge that matures him as an artist, which includes meeting new people and spaces that dedicate to the graffiti business and enjoying all the pleasures offered by this art.
He stands for the believe that an artist should be paid for his work but he also states that the pleasure of painting on the streets is unbeatable.
