WEBSITE: www.SecessionistMethod.comThe Secessionist Method of Composition Book by Antonio Quijano. A trans human theoretical overture in three parts: 1) The Secessionist Manifesto 2) Abstract Tonality 3) Dodecametrics, available at: www.SecessionistMethod.com“This impressive work by Antonio Quijano challenges the musician to break out of conventional traditions and re conceptualizes the systems by which composition and improvisation are possible. The book is thought provoking and refreshing even if one chooses not to accept all of its musical paths. I recommend this book to anyone that wishes to think outside the box”- Eddie Gomez (Chick Corea, Bill Evans, Miles Davis)The Secessionist Method of Composition is a system of thought instigated by the precepts promulgated by the Kaluza-Klein, Superstring, Supergravity and M-Theories. It is fueled by the principle that all the dimensions that hold up music can be factorized down to three parent dimensions: the Cognitive Dimension, the Oscillatory Dimension and the Spatial Dimension. To arrive at the conclusions that uphold the Secessionist Method of Composition, a deductive technique that incorporates art theory, philosophy and science was employed to mathematically intervene all three dimensions in order to formulate a doctrine that was able to scientifically prove that the primal powers of every preponderant theoretical proposition in music could be sustained within a common space-time, while retaining a plausible aesthetic inference. Its main propeller: The Secessionist Manifesto, labels these interventions (Abstract Tonality, Abstract Bitonality, Polysuspension and Dodecametrics) as the supreme solvents in which the limits of non-improvisation and the withdrawal from planned intention (the secessionist discourse) may be manifested. The Secessionist Method of Composition was schemed by Antonio Quijano by coherently interlocking a series of philosophical and scientific precepts (Suprematism, Fredkin’s Paradox, Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, and Gödel’s Theorem) in order to attain a logical description of the mechanisms that define an art form which borders the ceilings of human aural perception. The Secessionist Method of Composition is subdivided in three parts:1) The Secessionist Manifesto2) Abstract Tonality, Abstract Bitonality and Polysuspension3) DodecametricsAbstract Tonality and Dodecametrics are general theories appertaining music’s Oscillatory and Spatial Dimensions. The Secessionist Manifesto is a philosophical dissertation which breaks down suprematist principles in aural terms by regulating the ordering of a musical thought and the time flow in which it occurs in the language of the aforementioned theories.Abstract Tonality (a term that engulfs Abstract Bitonality and Polysuspension) is the consequence of an immense system that organizes sounds in such a way that the strengths of every leading harmonic order can operate synchronously while canceling its restrictions. By polarizing primordial forms of tonality: the interval and triadic permutations into individual fields, a new system of thought, advocated by a series of theorems and a gigantic spiral mathematical sequence, arises to propel the aural aesthetics of post-humanity. Its applications within music’s Oscillatory Dimension range from a set of 3,993 new masses of sound whose compatibility with ordinary heptatonic arrangements, twelve tone rows and interpolations, dwarf customary consonance conceptions, to their segmentation in order to produce melodic patterns.Dodecametrics is the use of prime numbers in the numerator of a time signature and their compression in order to fit them into a space outlines by another time signature. These time signatures act as the smallest interval (the semi pulse) of the twelve meter row. The twelve meter row is a metric response to the twelve tone row. Its purpose is to elevate music’s Spatial Dimension to the complexities attained through musical evolution in the Oscillatory Dimension. The discussions in this 8,446 page, 28 book compilation are aimed at the farthest consequences that this methodology allows: a multitudinous form of tonal and cyclic harmony whose parent scale is the twelve tone row: multidimensional serialism compressed into a singularity. So, in understanding the infinite (what), we can then perceive numbers (how); the extended logic of this sonic doctrine which can be upon command, as small as a quark and as fast as light.Breakdown of book contents:1) The Secessionist Manifesto - a detailed study on the agreeability of Suprematism with aural arts, the Limits of Non-Intention, the Artistic Awareness Numerical Line.2) Book I: Abstract Tonality - includes theorems, essays, techniques(Translations from Jazz Harmony, the Harmony Extraction Technique, Scales Relative to Binary Intervals, Aleatory Binary Intervals, Aleatory Serialism), Dissonance Dissolving Designs, extensive examples, an in depth discussion of the 1,331 new tonal units defined by the precepts and aims of Abstract Tonality (Individual Fields Approach, Vertical Structure Approach), a massive generator of melodic patterns that includes 17, 424 binary interval segments usable in any harmonic context.3) Book II: Abstract Bitonality – the aims of Abstract Bitonality, its sovereignty over common bitonality and how it fits the vision of Abstract Tonality.
