Hey! Thanks for checking out our site! For those who don't know us, Refined Undignified is a hip hop group from Briercrest College, found in the heart (and flatness) of Caronport, Sasktchewan. We started as a group three years ago, and have brought the gospel message to teens in Churches, Youth Centers, Schools and conferences throughout Western Canada. Our dancing incorporates Christian as well as "Secular" music, all with a purpose and a desire to show teens and kids that dancing can be used to glorify God. Why the name? 2 Samuel 6:22. David is overjoyed that the ark of the covenant is coming back to Jerusalem. He begins to leap and dance before the LORD. Michal, the daughter of Saul is embarrassed for his actions, but David responds in saying
"It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD's people Israel-I will celebrate before the LORD I will become even more UNDIGNIFIED than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by those slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor."
The second passage our name comes from is found in Zechariah 13:9.
"This third I will bring into the fire; I will REFINE them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on my name and I will answer them; I will say, 'They are my people,' and they will say,'The LORD is our God.'"
