Peta Wilson!!! I'd give almost anything to meet her just once... she inspired me to come out of "my shell". I used to be extremely introverted and shy (I'm still introverted, but only because most of the time I prefer being alone or with few people, not because I'm shy anymore). Her talent and charisma on La Femme Nikita inspired me so much that (for awhile) I wanted to be an actress. I decided to stop being so shy and start taking risks, so I took classes and auditioned at the Juilliard school in my senior year of high school. I didn't get accepted because I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and was very naive at the time, but I still pursued it for awhile and was in a few local plays in my area. During all that, I was going to a community college as "back-up" and took a psychology course. It FASCINATED me and so I took more and more the next semester and the next (I was originally a drama major) and decided that that was what I really wanted to do instead. So that's pretty much how I got to where I am today. During the time I was pursuing acting (during my high school years), I had written Peta a few letters and told her that she had inspired me to go into acting. Well, she had sent me back two autographed photos of herself saying "good luck at your auditions" and "thanks for watching, best wishes"!!! So I will always have those as a memory of my "acting days" (which were a lot of fun!), even though I've since decided on a different career. But anyway, to make a long (and probably boring) story short, she really inspired me and still does to this day. She came all the way over here from Australia by herself - knowing nobody - to pursue her dream. It takes A LOT of guts to do that!!! And I very much admire that! I admire her for her acting abilities too, but it's mostly for that reason that I look up to her. Some people are too lazy to change jobs or go to school, let alone move to another country by themselves where they know no one in order to have their dream job. So I really admire her for that, even still today. So that's why I would hope one day I could meet her - even if only a few minutes, just to get my picture taken and tell her that directly. But that's a long shot. I took a lot of chances that I probably would not have ended up taking if I had not been that inspired.
Pangea forming into Earth as we know it today – is this fascinating or what?!!!
