The Tony Comb Kazoo Band

About Me

The Tony Comb Kazoo band demonstrates the whole range of vibrado that can be reached. This talented artist will take you on a wild ride of sweeping crescendos, soaring vibrados, and make you wonder how a dollar bill and comb could ever be so beautiful.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: A comb, a dollar, and Tony.

Influences: I met a man who claims to have lived for over a thousand years. His name was Shu Zi Bi. He wrote his name in the sand something like this:

He taught me how to play the comb with my soul instead of with my mouth.

Sounds Like: The kazoo has its roots in Africa, where similar instruments were used for ceremonial purposes. The first kazoo was invented by an African American named Alabama Vest. It made its big debut in the Georgia State Fair in 1852.
There have been several popular songs in American history that have featured the kazoo. Some claim that it is one of the few acoustic instruments to have been developed in the United states.
Some of the most popular artists that have used kazoos:
Paul McCartney in the 1974 song "You're Sixteen".
Jurassic Five, during live performances.
Frank Zappa - "Hungry Freaks Daddy" and "You're Probably Wondering why I'm here"
Jimi Hendrix in "Crosstown Traffic"
Pink Floyd in "Corporal Clegg" (played by David Gilmour)

Record Label: Unknown Indie
Type of Label: Unsigned
