Influences: I grew up with soul, the blues, disco and funk mainly from me ma.Me dad played a lot of more British bands though: The Who, The Rolling Stones, Zep, Pink Floyd, Queen so I got a healthy mix.I've been a hip-hop junkie since high school when my mate Will lent me Ice-T's Original Gangsta. Not having heard anything like it before I was gasping for more, more, MORE!!! I then got my hands on one of the best rap albums of all time - Snoop's Doggstyle. And oh yes, this is when the obsession started. From there I listened to rap pretty much all the way through high school. Obviously it wasn't long before 2Pac's All Eyes on Me was in the collection and of course, quite a lot of Biggie. Westside Connection, Ice Cube in general, NWA, DRE, I couldn't get enough.
Busta Rhymes used to be the man, but has recently redeemed himself with the odd track. Extinction Level Event is the bomb!! - what happened Busta?!! The world didn't end, so he ran out of ideas?I was only introduced to The Wu-Tang when I met The Vacant at college, and then I didn't look back!! Enter The 36 Chambers is possibly the best rap album of all time and does also contain my favourite rap tune of all time. Da Mystery of ChessBoxing!! What a tune!!! The samples are from a quality Kung Fu film, Shaolin & Wu Tang. Their varying lyrical styles are what strongly defines them (apart from the phat tunes), and its why I love them.
Sounds Like: Nothing u can put your finger on
