TriPoets

About Me

TriPoets (pronounced Zam-P in Manderin) was founded in the summer of 2002, the group consists of 3 members: Shortee, Ill Mo and Teacher Lin. The sound of TriPoets stands out among numerous MCs in Taiwan, they have a unique expression of words and wisdom hidden within while they spit their flows. In Taiwan, or moreover, Asia in general, many have questioned if the art of rhyming could be represented while rhyming in Chinese, or any language other than English. The music of TriPoets had changed the opinions of nonbelievers. The way TriPoets construct and invent the rhymes in Manderin is innovative, the originality on the subject matter of the songs as well as the sound and tone of their raps can simply be recognized as one of the best in Taiwan. TriPoets released their unofficial mixtape album "Listen & Speak," in Oct., 2004. It was the first "underground" hip hop release in Taiwan. The record created a buzz and earned them the reputation as the one of the most respected MC crews in Taiwan. Their innovating move inspired many other underground rappers to follow their footsteps later. The TriPoets had performed as the opening act for Supernatrual, also, had shared the stage with the likes of Kero One, Ice-T, Public Enemy, Ugly Duckling, and Toni Blackman in Taiwan. After years of hard work, they had recieved kind compliments from people all around the world, finally, they had put out their first highly anticipated official release "The Beginning of Rhymes." And the legend has just begun. Used to love her MVMusic video: street single "Anaconda"!!!
