My name is Andrei and today I'm in Hattiesburg, Louisiana.
Today I walked here from Picayune, MS. But actually I was on a kitchen crew for the past day, and only got to walk three miles. I like kitchen crew but I don't like not walking and the short nights. We prepare food for 70 people.
Today, is Thursday, May 29. We have less than 50 days left on this walk. I'm getting sadder knowing it'll end soon and I have to find a real job.
I'm part of a group Longest Walk 2. About 80 of us are walking and running from San Francisco, CA to Washington DC.
We're crazy.
Most of us have quit our jobs or been unemployed.
Quite a few of us were homeless before we began walking.
And everyone has an intersting story.
I love it. I don't want to do anything but what I'm doing right now.
I have good days and bad days.
I'm always dusty and smell like sweat.
Every day I'm extraordinarily happy and I often want to cry.
I feel like I'm finally living.
I love life.
