The Urban Scholar Movement is the newest urban movement to take form. In a time when education and professionalism has taken a back seat amongst many black and Latino youth, Urban Scholars is committed to bringing Scholar back! We see the need to promote and support academic, personal, and professional excellence amongst our high school, college, and young professionals in an effort to help them reach the highest levels of their success. We aim to bring to the forefront images that reflect other urban scholars, in an effort to motivate and inspire other brothers and sisters; to let them know that they too can aspire to be top.
Urban Scholars are individuals who are connected socially with their communities. These are not individuals who have pursued their success at the expense of their cultural identities. But you find the Urban Scholar at the club, on the hoop court, and in the neighborhoods that they come out of; because that is who they are.
Success is the key, and we desire to promote success amongst Urban Scholars everywhere. So always remember to "Holla At a Schola" when you see me in the streets!
