About Me

Sagittarians have a positive outlook on life, are full of enterprise, energy, versatility, adventurousness and eagerness to extend experience beyond the physically familiar. They enjoy travelling and exploration, the more so because their minds are constantly open to new dimensions of thought. They are basically ambitious and optimistic, and continue to be so even when their hopes are dashed. Their strongly idealistic natures can also suffer many disappointments without being affected. They are honorable, honest, trustworthy, truthful, generous and sincere, with a passion for justice. They are usually on the side of the underdog in society they will fight for any cause they believe to be just, and are prepared to be rebellious. They balance loyalty with independence.

Not too far off to begin with, and it pretty much sums up one of the main reasons why I've come here. To fight for a cause I believe is just. The millenium goals.

During U2's Vertigo tour, I got in touch with fellow fans from all over the world who had their noses in the same direction: to try and do whatever we can to help achieve the 8 Millennium Goals set by the UN to be realised by 2015.

In June 2005, I created a piece of fabric that says: 'Zootopians united against poverty'. Zootopians are u2 fans who frequent the board on the band's official website U2.com.

I've taken it with me to shows I attended to draw people's attention to the Poverty issues. And once 'my tour' was over, I sent it to fellow fans for them to do the same. That piece of fabric eventually travelled 135,000 kms in the trail of U2's tour and has been signed by 3 of U2's band members, sir Bob Geldof, 4 u2 crew members and hundreds of U2 fans from Europe, North America, South America, Australia and Japan. Those pieces of fabric were given a name: 'The Banner'

I started writing about the Banner's travels on this myspace, and I finished assembling a book about the journey. It's 130 pages with over 300 photos in it among which some of our best concert photos as a little extra :-). It's now for sale through printing on demand. You can find it here

Hard coverSoft coverAll proceeds (7 dollar per book) go to The African Well Fund.

The U2 tour is over, the Banner wrapped up, but my journey continues. Donna, Canadian, is one of the first I ran into when this journey started. She's become a very dear friend of mine and given that I have time on my hands and I'm eager to do something, I've decided to try and give her a hand with her Comfort Doll Project.

Here's where you can read more about it COMFORT DOLLS.
