Myspace BackgroundsI'm an "educated hillbilly" raised on a family beef cattle operation in western Randolph County, Arkansas where I developed a work ethic, learned managerial and survival skills, and found an appreciation for the little things in life that make it truly worth living. I still live in Wranglers, Justin ropers, and a Chevy pickup when I'm not at the office. Home is where the heart is, and both of mine are in the Ozark Mountain area. I was very active in FFA (American Degree, 1997)while attending a little country public high school called Oak Ridge Central; I was one of fourteen who graduated from there in 1996 ("Good party. No whiskey. We go home." You had to be there then to know what that means here now.) The following fall found me at Arkansas State University (Bring back Joe, for Pete's sake!) pursuing a B.S. in Accounting with a minor in Agribusiness (2000), followed by an Master of Business Administration(2002). I was a Graduate Assistant turned accounting instructor while in grad school, and pursued that career until August 2007. Currently, I am back on the farm after a year and a half stint of serving my birthplace, the City of Jonesboro as City Accountant. I am actually starting to remember who I am. I do have aspirations of continuing my education by completing my agricultural business degree or by entering a doctoral program and serving the accounting profession once again on the academic level; when and where remains to be determined.
I burn the candle at both ends, so to speak. I can be simple, complicated, or both, depending on my mood. I like little children and old folks; loud music and complete silence; iced tea (unsweet, hold the lemon) and hot coffee; early mornings and late nights; a magnificent sunrise and a full harvest moon; catching snowflakes on my tongue and playing with fire; t-shirt and blue jeans and a pin striped suit (yes, I own one);getting dirty and long showers; long walks and short trips; good stories and bad jokes; and that's just for starters. Even though I have my extremes, I am not a complete liberal or a complete conservative--I am an INDEPENDENT--and we're not just talking politics.
"Them that don't know [me] won't like [me] and them that do sometimes won't know how to take [me]. [I] ain't wrong, [I'm] just different but [my] pride won't let [me] do things to make you think [I'm]right." (Ed Bruce)

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who likes to engage in intelligent conversation on a vast array of topics. REAL country music, good cookin' and hunting/fishing make excellent starters. It would be great to meet some more gals out there who aren't afraid to get themselves dirty (no. . .not like that) and some guys who can respect and appreciate a woman who's not all "powd'r n' paint n' all she ain't."

Patience Catches Fish

One of, if not, my greatest of passions is fishing. I often jokingly say that "I have more fish bait than good sense," which really isn't too far from the truth. I have numerous rods and reels, incl...

When Flywheels Shatter

My folks ran a small sawmill when I was in high school and I had the pleasure of working the tailend--stacking slabs and boards.  The mill was a pretty basic setup that ran off of a diesel powere...
