I am an artist and furniture maker. I am interested in sustainable and historic architecture. I enjoy salvaging (for the unsophisticated type that means I'm a trash digger). I also enjoy hiking, climbing, used clothing, and vegetarian food......Whoa......this kinda sounds like that Boulder-esque pseudo-hippy shit now that I write it down and read it back. Oh well I, I promise I don’t have birkenstocks or a BMW.
Although I am a boring cheapskate, have a big family, lived in Utah, and don't drink; I am not a Mormon(I'm an apatheist).
Much of my life was spent living in tight quarters with my mixed family of 10. Each summer I escaped these action-packed adventures to live and work with my Dad on the farm. My Dad was a biker and decorated the interior and exterior of his old farm-house with actual motorcycles and oil-caked engine parts. This is where I found my appreciation for a clusterfunk art/junk asthetic. One summer, my sister and I cleaned his “pigsty-sweet-pigstyâ€; buried beneath the layered rubble was a pastiche that included dead rodent carcasses, weapons, antique toys, crushed soda cans, the invisible woman, a Nazi war helmet, and other oddities. I quickly developed an internal world, and my active imagination found me constantly seeking expressive outlets.
