About Me
Singer-songwriter, Roni, Shreveport-born chameleon, has already earned the title of a go-getter. Continuing as a student she fills in the gap of free time with modeling and also working. She says, “it’s too hard in this world to just do one thing, you have to branch out and push yourself in education, success, and stability.†Trying to fit time everywhere she could Roni still managed to press .. the 4 years in the making of her debut album.
Despite all of the trials thrown her way, Roni was still able to release her debut album under her own independent label, Classy But Cautious Entertainment out of San Diego, CA. Bouncing from studio to studio she finally found a working relationship and partnership with Capricorn Studios. Writing and musically collaborating with the producers there, everything started to fit perfectly. She first realized she was a gifted writer through the tons of poetry she would write about love, life, and lessons learned. The poetry became music lyrics after meeting an up-an-coming producer who had instrumentals for her to listen to just for critiquing. After combining her poetry with some of the instrumentals, history in music writing began. Writing music then became a hobby until she felt she wanted more.
From 2004 to 2008 the album was in the making. Writing over 30 songs and selecting 11 tracks the album became very diverse; from hip-hop to R&B to pop. She made sure that the lyrics had a meaning and a message which prompted her to name the album “Listen to the Words.†She would always here people say, “I love the beat on that song†even if the lyrics had no meaning or if it was degrading. So with that she wanted to make a statement with “Listen to the Words.â€
The album's first single, "Friends R Hard To Find," written by Roni, expresses the difficulty it is to find loyal and long-lasting friends. The catchy hook beginning with “I always find the type that I just can not stand to be around†is enough explanation. This give you an idea of the boldness Roni has in her writing.
Honing all the confidence, class and breathtaking range of emotion that put her at the epicenter of the independent world, Roni has poured everything into her upcoming album due out on October 7th.It is Roni’s ability to completely wrap herself around a song, as she does on her new ballad “I Don’t Get It Enough,†(produced by Bryan Stratman and written by Roni) that raises the bar on her new album, revealing a depth and knack for storytelling that sculpts a landscape worthy of the singer’s entire repertoire of emotions.Roni’s biggest challenge may be her upcoming album and the maintaining of her label, but if you take into account her drive, awe-inspiring talents and unlimited enthusiasm, her biggest challenge may just prove to be her greatest success.
