About Me


SILENCE BREAKS was formed in August 2004 by vocalist Sam Mountain, guitarist Mason Hensley, guitarist Nestor Romero, and drummer Cameron White. Romero left the band in the early stages of songwriting, prompting Mountain to take over rhythm guitar, while Hensley moved to lead. The three remaining members continued working on material until White departed in March 2006. Mountain and Hensley then started the search for a new drummer and bassist. In April 2006, drummer Michael Vacio and bassist Blake Chapman joined the band. They're debut show would take place in May 2006.

After playing a handful of shows around the Pomona area, SILENCE BREAKS began recording their first 4-song EP which was released online in August 2006. After the EP release, and a few more shows, guitarist Mason Hensley left the band. He was replaced in December 2006 by guitarist Mark Reynolds.

In January 2007, SILENCE BREAKS entered the studio to record a new 9-song EP. The new EP, entitled "Event:Reborn", was finished and released in July 2007. During 2007, SILENCE BREAKS played various shows around the Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas including performing with LA bands, UN:ARMED, Idasas, Immune, and Rayah, New England rockers Shattersphere, and Irelend's Mike Got Spiked.

In April 2008, SILENCE BREAKS recorded and released a new EP entitled "Say Goodbye".

In June 2008, bassist Blake Chapman and guitarist Mark Reynolds departed from the band. They were soon replaced by bassist Rik Nanez & guitarist Vince Gatto.

The new lineup played together for six months, and in January 2009 they announced they would be taking a break.
