About Me

hmmm, how about me sharing a time in my life I'll never forget...
It's a day that I believe if I were to live to be in my 100's, my experience will remain as fresh in my mind as it was that night!
I was raised in a Christian home and the very first verse my Dad taught me was John 3:16. I can't even remember how old I was when I memorized that verse. The church we attended had shown a movie, I think it was called, "The Second Coming of Christ" or something like that. It depicted what it would be like when Jesus came back and how those that had not accepted Him, would be left behind. It was at this time that I begin to feel empty and a tug on the inside. I now realize it was the Lord dealing with me.
So many times after that, I'd feel that same tug inside but didn't talk about it. When my Parents had folks over from the church and talked about their salvation along with my Brother and Sister having had accepted Christ, I felt left out. I felt like they all had something I didn't have.
Well, one week we were in a Revival and on a Wednesday night after church, the Evangelist and other members came over to the house to fellowship and again the subject came up and again there I was feeling left out with that empty feeling and tug on the inside. After everyone left it was about 11:00pm and I excused myself to the bathroom. I decided right then and there I wanted what the rest of my family had. In my Mothers bathroom, I got down on my knees (goes to show you there's no specific place to be to talk to the Lord) and asked Jesus to come into my heart, forgive me of my sins and save my soul! I told Him I loved Him and thanked Him. When I stood up, I felt different as if a ton of weight had just vanished! I now realize it was peace that I had and the burden of sin had been lifted.
I came out of the bathroom in somewhat of a daze, went into the living room where my Parents were and said to them, "guess what?!! I then told them, I'd just accepted Jesus as my Savior! Of course they were thrilled and gathered around the table joined hands and thanked God for what had happened. We called my Sister that was married and living in Irving Texas even as late as it was at this time and of course she was excited for me. I remember going to school the next day and telling any and everybody that I was saved last night! Such an unforgettable experience it was! My Sister came down for my baptism which took place on a Sunday night. A married elderly couple was baptized that same night.
Writing this is even a joy for it's a reminder of that day back as fresh as the day itself! Honestly, I've made allot of decisions in my life, some great and some not so smart, however I admit, my accepting Christ as my Savior was the BEST decision I'll ever make!
I pray you will accept Him too because if you don't, you just don't know what you're missing! Jesus Christ is truely the BEST FRIEND you could ever have, hope to have or imagine!!!
Thank you for taking the time to read about my unforgettable experience! I'd love to hear yours!

A Prayer for Salvation:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You into my heart and life. I want to trust You as Savior and follow You as Lord, and I receive Your salvation by faith in Jesus' name. Amen.

Heroes:

1st: God; my Father, Jesus Christ my Savior and Best Friend!
2nd: My Dad; who not only loved the Lord in words, he lived it by his actions! It saddens me to hear someone say they weren't as fortunate to have an earthly example of a Heavenly Father because it's such a hindrance in knowing God as the wonderful Father, beyond expressible words, that He is!
If you are a Dad, please know, your role is extremely important in your childs life...no matter their age.
If you're someone that wasn't fortunate to have a loving Dad, I am sorry and pray you will fall into the Lord, give Him a chance to prove Himself and He will help you overcome any negative experience you've had. That my friend is guaranteed!

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) ...but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
