"The Shepherd" by Frederick Forsyth. My qsl radio card is based on this novel. There was a very famous Canadian reading of this story on CBC by the late Alan Maitland. I can remember sitting by the radio as a boy listening to this tale with my late father. I have posted this at putfile so you may also enjoy it. Here is the link http://media.putfile.com/The-Shepherd-as-read-by-the-late-Mr Alan-Maitland (It is only a short story so if you have about 35 minutes a good listen)
