About Me

From a small town called Belle Glade on the southern tip of Lake Okeechobee emerges five young and talented young men, who prefer to be called U.T. It all started in the Spring of 2001, when young Dane Angram, later to be known as O.D.C. (Off Da Chain) a.k.a. Griffin, and is originally from the neighboring town of Pahokee, met an aspiring young DJ by the name of Eric Villareal...later to be referred as Eternal E. Eric made a little extra cash by hosting parties and making beats. Dane then asked could Eric make him a couple of beats so he can write a little something, which he (Dane) had been doing since he was 12. Eric complied, and later stated that he had purchased a brand new production station. Dane went over to Erics place, and thats where it beganThe Renaissance. After working on a couple of tracks together, Dane and Eric invited a couple of friends over to hear some of their work. Eric started to play one of his newly refined tracks and the three guys that he invited over started to recite some things they had wrote to previously released instrumentals. Eric was impressed and asked if they could write a couple of verses for some tracks he had prepared. Those three guys were, Michael Rainey (Mista), CharTavis Davis (CLED), and Notory Beckford (One) who immediately thereafter were asked to come over and record some songs. The rest is history. With the oldest of these 5 young musicians being just 21, there is much time for them to grow as well as make moves in the music industry. Immediately these guys went to work, constantlyday in and day out. After long days of school they would leave in a haste and head directly to the studio for another day of writing, composing, and recording. In October of 2001, the first single was complete, entitled Ghetto Mob, which only consisted of one lyricist, Griffin. After having to take a break due to school, family constraints and financial problems, the 5 met again and started to work once more in October of 2002. After only five months of being in and out of the studio, the first album U.T.: Da Renaissance was released. Shortly thereafter, 4 of the 5 guys left town to attend college in Tallahassee, Florida, where a grueling college schedule and limited financial resources has made it even more difficult to pursue a music career. Eric later got married, but is still producing beats and shipping them out to the other 4, who are still writing and ripping the microphone on weekends and holiday breaks. Their second album entitled Loose Conduct has no set release date. Upon arrival in Tallahassee, U.T. gained new members in "Big Fletch" and "D.A.", whose album "Makin' Moves" is nearing completion and projected to be released Fall 2005. As of now, in Colaboration with Cordless Entertainment, are producing mixtapes with other artists ("Spiracy", "Synikal", "J-Clip", "Tiger") and are being released every 4-6 Fridays. If you are interested in any of these songs and would like to purchase the full-length, uncensored or clean versions, please send us a message and we will pomptly reply. Free promos will be given to DJs who request them. Singles on the promos will be shorter than album version, but longer than the samples on this page.
