The Big Bang
Originally soft launched in September 2001, the Ego Reaction line of t-shirts, E-gor Apparel's signature collection, hit the market with a buzz. The brand's CEO Paul Wallace, also passionately known as De La Rue , who's influences include various fashion moguls like Karl Kani, Phatfarm's Russell Simmons, Marc Ecko, and P. Diddy to name a few, breaks down his personal description of the brand as "Things that cause one to imagine one never forgets". The collection incorporates abstract pieces of art and photography to form intricate designs and fashionable items for the sophisticated urban male. The name E-gor, which stands for ego reaction, is a representation of ones self, our sense of individuality, and how we react to it. The artwork can be described as eye-catching graphical illustrations, inspired by music and images of urban lifestyle and culture. Some of the pieces derived from photograhy taken over the past years to grace the walls of homes and offices, but as the new trend of stylish t-shirts emerged Pablo envisioned a new outlet for his artwork, then the E-gor label was born. The E-gor line will not be limited to only t-shirts, but will span into a wider array of apparel and jewellery. Although the artwork can now be purchased on stylish t-shirts, the prints can still be purchased as limited edition contemporary portraiture.
The Ego Reaction® Project
The Ego Reaction® project was started in September of 2001. The purpose of this project is to bridge the gap between third world and first world design & print techniques in urban fashion. The Ego Reaction® concept came about with the definition of ego being 'the self, the part of the mind that reacts to reality and has a sense of individuality' and how it related to urban fashion. The name E-gor integrates the words ego reaction, which now represents the signature collection of the E-gor Apparel label.
E-gor® and Ego Reaction® are both Registered Trademarks. All Rights Reserved.
