1) I BELIEVE that man is neither inherently good nor inherently evil. What is inherent in man is rationality and free will.2) I believe that fame and fortune won’t buy love or happiness. I believe in forgiveness.5) I believe in rehabilitation – not punishment. I believe that criminals should be resocialized and rehabilitated I believe that punishment is ruthless.6) I believe that war as pointless and unconscionable for the same reason that I do not believe in punishment.7) I believe in the absolute equality of every human being. I believe that the lives of the dirt-poor have just as much value as the lives of the filthy rich. I believe that the life of a serial killer matters just as much as the life of a priest. I believe that the life of a sickly old woman is just as important as the life of a newborn baby.8) I believe that everyone is born with the potential to be whatever he wants to be – a mathematician, a ballerina, a pianist, a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, a writer, or a combination of all these and more.9) I believe in feminism, the equality between woman and man. I believe that coloring one’s hair, using make up, and wearing stilettos or platform shoes do not make one less of a feminist any more than shaving off one’s hair, growing a goatee, or wearing a cravat or a necktie makes one more of a feminist. I believe that one can be a feminist yet behave and act "feminine" at the same time.10) I believe that a "working mother" is just as much a "full-time mother" as is "non-working mother". I believe that giving up one’s career or putting it on hold to concentrate on taking care of one’s family is just as valid a choice as is continuing to work while taking care of one’s family.11) I believe that husband and wife should share household duties and responsibilities equally.12) I believe that grades are more a measure of a person’s diligence in studying than they are an accurate measure of one’s intelligence.13) I believe that E.Q. is more important than I.Q.14) I believe that one can learn more outside the classroom than in it.15) I believe that there is something to be learned from everybody.16) I believe that when a person hurts another person, he hurts himself much more.17) I believe that everyone has his/her own special and unique kind of beauty that is all his/her own.18) I believe that fidelity is more important than marriage. Where there is no fidelity, there can be no love (love in the romantic sense, that is).19) I believe that sex should only be in the context of a loving relationship.20) I believe that staying single for life is an option.21) I believe that love cannot exist without mutual respect.22) I believe that we must always treat others with the respect due them, but before we can expect others to respect us, we must first respect ourselves.23) I believe that the poor need to be given jobs, not alms.
