Born and raised in Philadelphia to Shirley and the late Joseph Bingham Sr. Carmen began singing at the age of five at Mount Mariah Temple Baptist Church. Later while singing at Beulah Baptist Church she met the wonderful Patti Labelle. This meeting was definitley the turning point in Carmens life. This was when she decided that spreading joy through song was her calling. Over the many years that Carmen has been singing, Carmen has had the privelage of working with many great artists. This is to include the likings of Billy Paul, McFadden and Whitehead, The Delfonics, Fat Larry's Band, Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes, Jean Carn, The Stylistics, The Snapp Band, Norman Harris, Dexter Weinzel, & Jerry Butler just to name a few. Carmen's life as a vocalist has been both fulfilling and exciting. With the blessings of god and the continued support of her children Ivan and Jahmar Bingham, family, friends, and wonderful fans this is just the beginning of Ms. Carmen Marie.
