1967 was not only a day that dramatically affected Detroit but it also dramatically affected the whole state of Michigan. Most people tend to forget that in 1943 there were also riots that exploded in the heart of the city due to the same traditional, systematic,and divisive elements that rule our ghettos to this day, but nigga this is 67, 43 dead, hundreds injured and thousands of arrests but even more devastating was the economic impact. Billions of dollars lost over all these years as buisnesses left along with the prospect of seeing Michigan flourish from a sea of investments. Its the sole reason shit is so fucked up in the D now because economically if made Detroit one dimensional.
So if GM goes down so does the D not to mention the youth who are moving out at an unbelievable rate, hell im one of em.(Not from the D but out of K-zoo Mich) and the youth is who will eventually be the ones who will run the state, and think thats deep cuz if the people who become the lawyers, policeman, POLITICIANS, stoeowners ect are the people that you went to school with, there would be a greater understanding of one another, instead you have 50 year old politicians ,lawyers and judges with a HUGE misunderstanding of us and what we have to go through as individuals and as a people, which leads to disproportionate sentences for prison and unfair treatment in all areas of true productivity. So what do we do, we do the only thing left for MERK to do which is fight through music. And as we grow and we meet the opposition who's thought process is the total opposite of the ELITE we're not just looking for a knock out, we looking to start a muthafuckin RIOT, A 67 RIOT!!!!!!!
