Long before the term World-Music was adapted by the music industry it had already come into existence in Jánoss melodies, instrumentation and through his collaboration with musicians from the east and west. All ensemble-members were like him classically trained and were initiated by János into jazz and free improvisation. EOS has been one big world family who have been using their mastership of their instruments and the freedom of their own artistic expression to communicate in the one divine and therefore limitless language: music.The music János composed for EOS represented a completely new style in Eastern Europe: János transferred timeless mystical and spiritual truths to the world of sound by introducing to the Eastern-European ear a combination of elements from classical, ethnic and classical indian music and jazz.They started off as a Music-Academy student formation in the mid-eighties, and soon became very popular with their audiences in the Hungarian clubs and festivals.
